Panaji, Dec 17: The state government has ordered the closure of three popular club venues in Anjuna — Clara, Salud and Mayan Beach Club — after inspections found them operating in violation of prescribed safety requirements.

The premises have been sealed as part of an ongoing enforcement drive aimed at ensuring compliance with public safety norms.

Officials reiterated that no leniency will be shown toward establishments that ignore mandatory safety standards, stressing that protecting the lives and well-being of patrons is non-negotiable.

The administration has also expanded inspections to other nightlife and entertainment venues across the area to identify and address similar violations and prevent potential risks.
