Over 91% voter enumeration completed, claims window opens for corrections

Panaji, Dec 16: The Chief Electoral Officer has reported significant progress in the voter enumeration exercise, with forms collected from 10.84 lakh electors, accounting for a response rate of 91.56 per cent.

The verification process identified several discrepancies, including more than 72,000 voters who had either relocated or were not traceable at their registered addresses.

In addition, 25,574 entries were flagged as deceased, while 1,997 individuals were found to be registered at multiple polling locations.

Election authorities clarified that eligible voters whose names were wrongly excluded or whose details require correction will have an opportunity to rectify the records. Such electors can submit applications during the Claims and Objections period, which will remain open from December 16, 2025, to January 15, 2026.
