Mangaluru, Dec 15: An email threatening a bomb blast was received at the official email ID of the Mangaluru Regional Transport Office (RTO), located near Nehru Maidan, causing tension on Monday, December 15.

According to police sources, miscreants sent an email claiming that bombs had been planted at five locations. The threat mail was received late Sunday night. However, RTO officials noticed the email around noon on Monday and immediately informed the police department.

Following the alert, teams from the Mangaluru police, including the Anti-Sabotage Check (ASC) squad and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), rushed to the spot. A thorough inspection was carried out inside the RTO office and across the entire office premises.

No suspicious objects were found during the search, police said.
