Mangaluru, Dec 12: The Annual Sports Day at SCS Riverside International Academy was celebrated with splendour, enthusiasm, and high sporting spirit on the December 12 turning the school grounds into a vibrant arena of energy, discipline, teamwork, and youthful dynamism.
The event served as a powerful testament to the institution’s commitment to holistic development, offering students a platform to demonstrate their athletic abilities, leadership qualities, and sportsmanship. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as participants, teachers, and guests gathered to witness the much-awaited celebration.

The ceremony began with a guard of honour, meticulously presented by the school band under the expert guidance of Prem Moras. The rhythmic march and synchronised movements created a sense of pride and set the tone for the significance of the day.
The chief guest of the day, Bhakshith Salian an athletic coach – Khelo India Center, Dr Rajneesh Sorake, president SCS group of Institutions, Hardik Chauhan, principal, First Grade College, Prof Rajaram, principal, SCS PU College & Vinaya D’Souza, principal, SCS Preschool were warmly welcomed and escorted by the principal Helen Lobo as they made their way to the venue. Their presence added grace to the celebration.
Following the formal welcome, the event was declared open with the hoisting of the school flag and the lighting of the Sports Torch, symbolising strength, integrity, aspiration, and excellence the core values upheld by the institution. Student leaders carried the torch with pride as the crowd cheered in encouragement.
The day featured an array of track-and-field events, drill displays, aerobic performances, and team competitions. Students from various grades participated with passion and confidence, showcasing the spirit of healthy competition. The vibrant house-wise march past, colourful formations, and well-coordinated drills won the hearts of everyone.
In his address, chief guest Bhakshith Salian appreciated the school’s efforts in promoting physical fitness and all-round development among students. He encouraged children to value sports as a means to build discipline, resilience, and a positive attitude toward challenges.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, honouring winners for their exceptional performance and sportsman spirit.
