SJEC Women’s team emerges champion in VTU state-level throwball tournament

Mangaluru, Dec 7: The Sports team of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor put on an excellent performance in the recently held Throwball tournament and won multiple laurels for the college under the guidance of PED Vaneesha V Rodrigues, assistant PED Sudheer M and coach Suraj. SJEC Women’s Throwball team emerged as the champion in the VTU Mangaluru Division Throwball Tournament organised by SDMIT, Ujire on December 3. Deona Carol Alvares (III sem MCA) was declared Best All-rounder of the tournament.

The team also participated in VTU State Level Throwball Tournament and emerged as winners in and Bhoomika L Banian (III sem MBA) emerged best thrower and Nisha Valerie Aranha (V sem CSE) best all-rounder of the tournament organised by SDMIT, Ujire on December 4.

The winning squads featured talented players from UG & PG programmes:

Deona Carol Alvares (III sem MCA), Deepashree (III sem MCA), Hithashree T (III sem EEE), Ashika M R (VII sem EEE), Joan V J (VII sem AIML), Navita Vinod Shetty (III sem AIML), Nisha Valrie Aranha (V sem CSE), Thanvika (VII sem ECE), Nripali S Rao (III sem ECE), Bhoomika L Banjan (III sem MBA), Samskrithi R Shetty (I sem ECE), Alvina Pais (I sem CSE).

The management of SJEC has congratulated the entire team, the physical education directors and the coach for this overwhelming achievement.
