Mangaluru, Dec 7: The long-promised sea ambulance service — aimed at rescuing fishermen during emergencies in deep waters — will become operational before the onset of the next monsoon, state minister for fisheries, ports and inland water transport Mankal S Vaidya said on December 6.
Speaking to reporters in the city, the minister said the government had assured fishermen that a dedicated sea ambulance system would be introduced to strengthen maritime safety.

“The announcement was made in the state budget, the tender process has been completed, and construction work has already begun in Chennai. The service will be ready before the next monsoon,” he said.
