Brahmavar, Dec 6: Students of PM Shri School in Kukkehalli were confronted with an alarming situation after foodgrains used to prepare their midday meal were found to be spoilt. The discovery has raised serious concerns over the safety of the food served and the possibility that children may have consumed contaminated meals.
Ganapathi, a parent of one of the students, said this was not the first such incident at the school. He noted that school authorities and members of the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC) had earlier drawn the attention of officials to the issue, but no concrete action had been taken. Frustrated by continued negligence, local residents had previously staged protests demanding immediate intervention.

Ganapathi further stated that the school has around 285 to 300 students and that similar incidents had occurred before. “We have informed the authorities several times, but no effective response has been seen. This issue has come to light once again after several days,” he said.
The problem was noticed today while the midday meal was being prepared. Disturbed by the unhygienic condition of the foodgrains, the children promptly informed their parents, who later raised objections with the school management.
The incident has triggered serious concerns over food safety and hygiene in government schools and has renewed calls for strict action against those responsible.
