Mangaluru, Nov 27: The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) organised the third edition of Mangaluru Entrepreneurs’ Day, titled Ideation ’25, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at its campus in Bondel. The event brought together business leaders, startup founders, students and investors for a dialogue on entrepreneurship and innovation.

The inaugural session featured P B Ahmed Mudassar, president of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), as chief guest. Manel Annappa Nayak, president of the Women’s National Education Society (WNES), presided over the function. The institute’s correspondent Ajith Kamath, joint correspondent K V Raghava Kamath and director Dr Molly S Chaudhuri were also present.

Mangaluru Entrepreneurs’ Day aims to motivate aspiring entrepreneurs, build collaborative networks, strengthen the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, promote local job creation and contribute to regional economic development.

In his address, the chief guest, P B Ahmed Mudassar, highlighted the importance of timing and vision in building successful ventures. “Entrepreneurship is often about being in the right place at the right time,” he said, pointing to the success story of Zerodha. “With Viksit Bharat taking shape, this is the right moment to make a difference.”

Ajith Kamath, correspondent of MSNIM, echoed this sentiment, urging students to take advantage of the opportunities around them. “Entrepreneurship is about recognising and seizing the moment,” he said. “The institute offers several initiatives that nurture entrepreneurial thinking, and I encourage students to make full use of them.”

Delivering the presidential address, Manel Annappa Nayak called on students to leverage technology in their learning and exploration. “The internet gives you the world at your fingertips,” he said. “Use it to understand global trends, analyse where the world is heading and build the skills you need to shape your own entrepreneurial journey.”

The programme featured two panel discussions. The first session, ‘From Ideas to Empire – Inspiring Minds,’ was moderated by assistant professor Nanditha Sunil and included panellists Aditya Kalluraya (co-founder & CEO, The Web People), Nivedan Nempe (founder, Areca Tea), Divya D’Souza (partner, M D’Souza Caterers) and Yatheesha K S (founder & CEO, Yaticorp India Pvt Ltd).

The second discussion, ‘Charging the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem,’ was moderated by assistant professor Dr Aditi Kamath, with CA Anwesh Shetty (managing partner, ASCA), CS Sonali Mallya (partner, PN Pai & Co) and Satheesan Kartha (DGM, NABARD).

Second-year MBA student Shreya P welcomed the gathering, and Shreya S proposed the vote of thanks. Vibha D C compered the programme. The event was coordinated by assistant professors Nanditha Sunil and Sanath Bhandarkar.
