Mangaluru: Yuvaraj Kundar of St Aloysius Gonzaga bags double gold at CBSE Skating Nationals

Mangaluru, Nov 26: The CBSE National Speed Skating Championship, held in Haryana from November 13 to 16 brought together more than 300 skaters from CBSE schools across several states, competing for top national honours.

Among the standout performers was Mangaluru’s Yuvaraj Kundar of the Mangalore Roller Skating Club, who delivered a commanding display by winning two gold medals, securing first place in both his races. His twin victories earned him the title of overall champion at the prestigious national event.

Yuvaraj, a student of Gonzaga St Aloysius School, trains under coaches Mahesh Kumar and Shravan. Speaking after the event, his coaches said the double-gold feat was “a well-earned milestone that reflects Yuvaraj’s discipline, consistency and competitive spirit.”

Organisers noted that the championship showcased some of the finest emerging skating talent in the country. They added, “Winning two golds at a national meet is a significant achievement, and Yuvaraj’s performance highlighted his potential on the national circuit.”
