MCC Bank inaugurates 15th ATM at Udupi branch

Mangaluru, Nov 25: MCC Bank inaugurated its 15th ATM at the Udupi Branch on Sunday at Shivadama Commercial, Ajjarkadu Park Road, Udupi. The ATM was inaugurated by Fr Anil D’Souza, parish priest of St Xavier Church Udyavara.

The ATM was blessed by Fr Charles Menezes, parish priest of Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi. The first cash withdrawal from the new ATM was made by Shivaprasad Shivarama Shetty of Tullur.

The programme was presided over by sahakara ratna Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank. John Carlo, logistics officer, was the chief guest.

In his presidential address, chairman Anil Lobo expressed gratitude to the customers of the Udupi Branch for their continuous support, which has contributed significantly to the branch’s growth and the establishment of the ATM facility. He said the bank’s progress has been possible due to the unity, trust, and cooperation of its customers. Where there is love, dedication, and sincerity, success naturally follows, he added.

He said the bank has a clear vision for the future and emphasised that banking requires careful management of public funds. Lending must be prudent and recovery must be regular to ensure sustainability. He reiterated that the primary responsibility of the board and the staff is to provide excellent customer service, treat every customer with respect, and recognise the value of each individual. He assured that MCC Bank provides all the services available in nationalised banks and that deposits are secured under the DICGC. He urged customers to continue supporting the bank and walk together on the path of growth.

He highlighted MCC Bank’s initiative of honouring achievers in fields such as education, sports, and arts, a practice continued at the Udupi ATM inauguration. He said the bank has expanded its operational area to cover the entire state and now ranks among the top two urban cooperative banks in Karnataka. He also announced the launch of NRE banking services, making MCC Bank one of only two urban cooperative banks in Karnataka to offer this facility.

Delivering the first keynote address, Fr Charles Menezes said that prayer alone is not sufficient for growth; hard work and dedication must accompany it. He extended his best wishes for the bank’s continued progress.

In his address, Fr Anil D’Souza said that where there is love and sincerity in the workplace, development naturally follows, which MCC Bank has consistently demonstrated. He acknowledged the bank’s commitment to safeguarding public money and appreciated its priority for senior citizens by offering attractive interest rates. He said God’s grace continues to guide the bank’s achievements.

He recalled the inspirational leadership of chairman Anil Lobo, speaking of his journey from youth to his present role. He stressed that “MCC Bank is our bank” and urged everyone to support it wholeheartedly. He appreciated the bank for recognising achievers and creating employment opportunities for the youth.

In his message, Shivaprasad Shivaram Shetty expressed happiness as a long-standing customer and pride in being the first to withdraw cash from the new ATM. He said that support from a bank strengthens businesses and acknowledged MCC Bank’s role in shaping his career.

On this occasion, Riha Melani D’Souza, who secured 99.20% in SSLC; Srihari S G, who secured All India NEET UG 2025 rank 3104 and Karnataka rank 277; and Shainey Alva, recipient of the KRCBC Yuva Rathna Award, were honoured. Ancilla Fernandes, branch manager of the Shirva Branch, presented the report of achievements.

As part of the celebrations, customer William Lobo, who celebrated his 75th birthday, was felicitated with a cake-cutting ceremony.

Director Elroy Crasto welcomed the gathering. Alwyn Danthy compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.

Director Felix D’Cruz, general manager Sunil Menezes, branch manager Pradeep D’Souza, deputy general manager Raj Menezes, branch managers, staff members, and customers in large numbers were present. The programme began with a prayer by the staff members.
