Mangaluru: Man injured in knife attack; one suspect apprehended

Mangaluru, Nov 24: A man named Akhilesh sustained a minor hand injury after being attacked by four men riding a single motorcycle, police reported.

According to information available, the men, who were carrying knives, were spotted by Akhilesh. “I followed them to record their video,” Akhilesh said. “They brandished a knife, and I got injured in my hand,” he added.

Three of the suspects fled the scene, while locals caught one and handed him over to the police. “All accused have been identified, and the remaining suspects will be caught soon,” a senior police officer said.

CCTV footage reportedly shows the four men coming out of a bar prior to the incident. Authorities are also investigating whether the suspects were under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants.

Senior officers are personally monitoring the investigation. “Those in custody are being interrogated, and more facts will come out after enquiry,” the officer added.

The injury is reported to be minor, and a photograph of the injured hand has been released.
