Udupi: St Mary’s English Medium School holds Annual Day celebration

Udupi, Nov 24: St Mary’s English Medium School celebrated the annual cultural day for the high school and senior secondary section on November 22, at 4 pm in St Mary’s Auditorium.

The celebration was graced by Sr Lathika A C, principal of St Cecily’s English Higher Primary School, Udupi, who joined as the guest of honour, and Fr Charles Menezes, correspondent, who presided over the function.

The dignitaries on the dais included principal Fr Vijay Dsouza, vice principal Rita Quadros, Maxim D’Souza – vice president, parish pastoral council, Dr Cornel Arthur Rodrigues – secretary, parish council, head boy Snehal S Hegde, and head girl Navya R Shetty.

Rita Quadros extended a warm welcome to the guests and the gathering, after which principal Fr Vijay Dsouza presented the Annual School Report.

Outstanding student achievers of Grade 10 and Grade 12 -Academic Year 2024–25 were honoured for their exemplary performance in academics and other fields. Sr Lathika A C was felicitated by the dignitaries, following which she delivered an inspiring message, highlighting the dedication, hard work, and sacrifices required from students, teachers, and parents in shaping a successful future.

A special felicitation was also accorded to Wilfred Mascarenhas, a senior auxiliary staff member, on the occasion of his superannuation. The certificate of felicitation was read by Vinay Suvarna.

In his presidential address, the correspondent urged parents to remain supportive and help their children cope with academic and emotional stress. Helen Cornelio proposed the vote of thanks.

The formal programme was followed by mesmerising cultural performances by students from Grade 8 to 12, showcasing their talents through dance, music, and drama. The formal ceremony was compered by Hafid and Anusha, while the cultural events were anchored by Bradley and Shivani.

The evening concluded with the National Anthem, leaving students, parents, and alumni with cherished memories of a vibrant and unforgettable celebration.
