Mangaluru: YenReach 2025 inaugurated at YIASCM, Kulur

Mangaluru, Nov 23: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in association with the Department of Linguistic Studies at the Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), a constituent institute of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) inaugurated the maiden edition of YenReach 2025, an outreach and extension initiative aimed at delivering structured career guidance sessions to PU students across Dakshina Kannada and neighbouring districts.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof Jeevan Raj, principal (I/C), who highlighted the importance of guiding young learners through aptitude-based assessment and informed counselling.

Dr Vasanth Kumar, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, welcomed the gathering and outlined the objectives of the initiative, which is set to cover nearly 40 PU colleges and reach over 4,000 students.

A faculty development programme followed, featuring sessions by Dilip D Rao, marketing manager – admission and outreach, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), on Career Guidance Techniques, and Srinivasa Pejathaya, assistant professor and programme coordinator, on administering aptitude tests.

The aptitude test material was guided and reviewed by Prof Shareena P, vice principal and dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management. Narayan Sukumar A, vice principal, Dr Sumangala Rao, head, Department of Microbiology, Mahammad Shahid, head, Department of Commerce, Dr Pavithra M, head, Department of Food Science & Nutrition, Shalini Sequeira, head, Department of Linguistic Studies, Mervin Jaison Vas, head, Department of Hospitality Science, Madhumita Bhattacharyya, coordinator of Design Programmes, along with faculty members from the Departments of Humanities and Social Sciences, Design, Linguistic Studies, and other departments participated in the event.

The programme was compered by K Kalaiselvi, assistant professor of Fashion Design, and Madan Mohan Simha, assistant professor of Linguistic Studies delivered the vote of thanks.
