Chennai, Nov 22: Director J. K. Chandru’s action-comedy Revolver Rita, starring Keerthy Suresh, has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A rating, paving the way for its worldwide release on November 28.

The film was initially slated to arrive in theatres on August 27 for the Vinayaka Chathurthi weekend, but its release was postponed. Passion Studios, one of the producers, announced the new release date and censorship clearance on social media, writing: “We’ll see U/And your family in theatres on Nov 28th. #RevolverRitaFromNov28”

Revolver Rita has generated significant buzz ever since its title teaser dropped. In the teaser, Keerthy Suresh’s character has her handbag stolen while buying vegetables, only for the thieves to discover weapons — including a revolver, a blood-stained butcher knife, and a bomb — inside. She soon storms the hideout demanding the bag back, leaving the criminals confused about whether she is a RAW agent, a don, or a cop. The humour peaks when her mother, played by Radikaa Sarathkumar, calls mid-standoff asking about tomatoes for cooking, prompting Keerthy to casually reply, “Keep the stove on sim, I’m on my way.”

The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy, with music by Sean Roldan. The cast also features Radikaa Sarathkumar, Sunil, Ajay Ghosh, Redin Kingsley, Super Subbarayan, and John Vijay.

Dinesh Krishnan B handles cinematography, Praveen K. L. serves as the editor, MKT is the art director, and the action sequences are choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan.
