Karnataka govt announces 50% traffic fine rebate again

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 21: In a major relief to vehicle users across the state, the Karnataka government has once again announced a 50% rebate on pending traffic violation fines. The state had earlier implemented a similar rebate scheme, which generated crores of rupees in revenue.

On Wednesday, Rangappa Karigar, deputy secretary of the transport department, issued an official order bringing the rebate back into effect. After reviewing the proposal submitted by the transport department, the government approved it and directed immediate implementation.

As per the order, the 50% rebate scheme will be effective from November 21 and will remain in force until December 12. Motorists can clear their pending fines at half the amount during this period.

The 50% rebate will be available from November 21 to December 12. Vehicle owners can settle their pending cases by paying only half of the accumulated traffic fines during this window.

In Bengaluru, motorists can clear their fines at traffic police stations, the Traffic Management Centre, Karnataka One, and Bengaluru One centres, or by accessing their respective websites.

In districts, vehicle users can visit the nearest police station to avail the rebate and pay the discounted fine amount.

Online payments can be made through the Karnataka State Police (KSP) app and the BTP Astra app, the traffic police have informed.
