Puttur, Nov 20: Three accused in a drug consumption and sale case registered at the Uppinangady police station have been sentenced after the court found them guilty.
The case was registered under Crime No. 120/2023, Sections 27(B) and 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act. Former Uppinangady police sub-inspector Rajesh conducted the investigation, gathering all necessary evidence and filing a charge sheet against the accused Saleem Hussain, Shahaj Ahmed and Mohammed Shafi.

After conducting the trial, the court of the PSCJ and JMFC, Beltangady, found the accused guilty and ordered Rs 10,000 fine and one year simple imprisonment under section 27(B), and Rs 10,000 fine and one year simple imprisonment under section 20(B)(ii)(A).
Assistant public prosecutor Divyaraj Hegde represented the government in the case.
