Mangaluru: Three-year-old boy donates tiger dance collection to two needy families

Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 18: In a heartwarming gesture during the Dasara celebrations, a three-and-a-half-year-old boy from Kadri has won over the community by donating all the money he received while performing in a Huli Vesha (tiger dance) to two economically distressed families.

Aarav J Kadri, son of Gaurav J Kadri, president of Kadri Cricketers Club (R), and Akila Gaurav, took part in the festivities with the Yuva Sangam Kudroli team dressed in tiger costume. The currency garlands he received from the public were later handed over as financial assistance to two families in need.

The donation ceremony was held at the Kadri grounds under the joint initiative of Kadri Cricketers Club (R) and Aasare Friends, Kadri.

The support amount was handed over to Mahima Chandra Shekhar, who has been undergoing treatment at KMC Hospital for the past six months following an accident, and Anitha Priya Rodrigues of Mangaluru, who has been suffering from severe illness.

Speaking on the occasion, Kadri Cricketers Club (R) president Gaurav J Kadri recalled that earlier, Aasare Friends Kadri president Dinesh Kadri used to don the tiger costume each year and donate the collected money to underprivileged families battling illness. “Due to personal reasons, he could not take part this year, and Aarav J Kadri willingly stepped forward to continue the cause,” he said.

Those present at the programme included Kadri Cricketers Club (R) honorary president Deepak Salyan, secretary Mohan Koppal Kadri, Aasare Friends treasurer Manjunath Kadri, vice president Dhanaraj ND, Aasare Friends president Dinesh Kadri, treasurer Deepak Shetty, Yuva Sangam Kudroli (R) president Pranesh, members of the Kadri Cricketers Club and others.
