Moodbidri: Three held for illegal cow transport; habitual offender faces 30th case

Mangaluru, Nov 17: Acting on credible information, the police intercepted a Tata Ace container vehicle near Hosmaru–Nellikaru in Moodbidri taluk and arrested three persons for allegedly transporting cattle illegally.

The arrested have been identified as Mansoor Adyapady alias Mohammad Mansoor, Mohammad Ashwad, and Abdul Mohammad Nisham. Police said the accused were transporting three cattle in violation of the law.

A case has been registered at Moodbidri police station under Crime No. 178/2025 for offences under Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Section 11(1)(d) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and Sections 4, 5, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance.

According to police, Mansoor Adyapady, the first accused, has 29 previous cases registered against him in various police stations, making this his 30th case. The second accused, Mohammad Ashwad, has one earlier case under the cow slaughter prohibition law registered in Ullal, making this his second offence. For the third accused, Abdul Mohammad Nisham, this is the first case registered.

Police said the case has been filed under the provisions pertaining to organised crime. All three accused were produced before court, which has remanded them to judicial custody.

    There are 29 previous registered cases on Mansoor on cow slaughter prohibition cow slaughter prohibition act and he still acting as if he has the license to act as per his will and wish. All because of our weak law and strict court action. High time to dump such guys at isolated places may Andaman prison also confiscate his ban account and any assets he is owning. "Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking".

    When they are repeated offenders why are they still roaming but not in jail?Is it Police receive money from them?Or our rules are different to certain people?They shouldnt be released this time but jail them for long time.
