Mangaluru: Ladyhill English Medium Higher Primary School (ICSE) celebrates Vatsalya

Mangaluru, Nov 16: On the occasion of the 60th diamond jubilee of Ladyhill English Medium Higher Primary School (ICSE), the school joyfully celebrated Vatsalya, a special day for grandparents on November 11, honouring the loving guardians who shape the hearts of the children.

The distinguished chief guests Fr Jesudas D’Costa, spiritual director of St John Paul II Shrine, Bajpe; Dr Haroon Hussain, consultant in Internal Medicine, KMC Hospital, Mangaluru; Sr Maria Kripa AC, joint secretary of the Ladyhill Institutions; Sr Jenifer Moras AC, principal; Aruna Mallya, senior dietician; Manisha Nayak, physiotherapist; and Paresh Narendra, PTA vice president were ceremoniously escorted by the school band to the hall, marking the beginning of a graceful and meaningful celebration.

The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song, inviting blessings upon all gathered. This was followed by a mesmerizing welcome dance presented by the students, expressing joy, gratitude, and reverence for all grandparents.

The atmosphere warmed further when Rosely D’Costa extended a heartfelt welcome to all the guests and grandparents with her thoughtful words. This was followed by a gracious address by the chief guests.

Fr Jesudas D’Costa then revived cherished memories of grandparental love with his wisdom-filled message and a beautiful, soulful song. Later, the doctors enlightened the grandparents on healthy food habits and simple exercises, encouraging them to lead a strong, active, and healthy life.

The cultural performances by class 8A that followed filled the hall with smiles and joy as the students captivated the gathering through a delightful skit, energetic dances, and melodious songs. Adding to the charm of the day, the adorable KG students stole every heart with their sweet and enchanting presentation.

Preetha Jyothi D’Souza beautifully compered the programme, ensuring its smooth and elegant flow. Rita Tauro, a grandparent of our school, graciously proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.

The celebration concluded with a warm gesture of appreciation as each grandparent was presented with a special memento, lovingly prepared in remembrance of the 60th golden jubilee. It was a fitting tribute to honour their blessings, wisdom, and irreplaceable presence in the lives of the children.
