Mangaluru: Carmel School celebrates Children’s Day with joy and colour for KG–grade 2 students

Mangaluru, Nov 15: Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and love at Carmel School for students of KG to grade 2. The campus came alive with a colourful entrance portico adorned with balloons, candies and cheerful decorations, creating an atmosphere of excitement as the little ones walked in.

The programme beganwith a meaningful prayer service, followed by the honouring of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with a garland, remembering his affection for children. The welcome was made even more special by the support staff, who entertained the gathering with a lively chicken dance and a warm greeting.

Dr Sr Prem, the administrator and Sr Premal, vice principal graced the occasion. They were welcomed with roses, symbolizing gratitude and respect for their presence.

The teachers presented a mime show, portraying the fun, joy and learning that takes place in the classrooms. To further engage the children, spot games were conducted, filling the atmosphere with excitement. Teachers led cheerful action songs, encouraging students to sing along, followed by an energetic Zumba session that had the children dancing and enjoying the celebration.

Dr Sr Prem addressed the children with an inspiring message, saying, “Our future is like a question paper—we never know what comes next.” She encouraged students to love nature, recycle and contribute to saving trees.

Following her message, a special prize distribution ceremony was held.

Winners of the spot games were awarded delightful gifts, adding excitement to the celebration. Meritorious students were honoured with trophies and certificates, acknowledging their consistent effort and achievements.

The celebration continued with a lively dance performance by the teachers, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Elizabeth, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event and appreciating the children as the shining stars of the school. To end on a sweet note, ice creams were distributed to all students.
