Muslim entrepreneur funds construction of Hindu temple worth crores in Ramanagara

Ramanagara, Nov 15: In a remarkable display of communal harmony, Channapatna, the town famous for its wooden toys, has once again stood as a shining example of Hindu-Muslim unity. A Muslim businessman has funded the complete reconstruction of the centuries-old Basaveshwara Temple at Mangalvarapete in the town, spending several crores of rupees on the project.

The temple, which had fallen into a dilapidated state, has now been beautifully rebuilt with a donation of Rs 3 crore from S K Beedi owner, Syed Sadathulla Sakhaf. He not only financed the reconstruction but also actively participated in the temple’s inauguration ceremony, setting an inspiring example of interfaith solidarity.

During the event, Hindu community leaders honoured Syed Sadathulla Sakhaf by adorning him with a silver crown and showering him with flowers in appreciation of his noble gesture.

The land for the temple was donated by local residents Kempamma and Motegowda, while Sakhaf undertook the construction of the new stone temple at a cost exceeding Rs 3 crore. The newly inaugurated temple now stands as a symbol of peace, harmony, and coexistence, spreading a powerful message of unity among all communities.

Notably, this is not the first time Sakhaf has championed such initiatives. Earlier, in Sante Mogenahalli, he had built a Veerabhadreshwara Temple with his own funds and had even constructed a Hindu temple and a Muslim dargah within the same compound — a gesture that had drawn widespread admiration. With the reconstruction of the Basaveshwara Temple, he has once again demonstrated his generosity and commitment to communal harmony.

Giving or helping those whbare in is a vision. Few people are blessed by such virtue and hearty desire. Its ones born nature to extend helping and in return God gifts his blessings in 100 folds. Money and wealth is temporary but feeding one soul is worth having a lac Rs preserving it in tight knot. I have seen personally guys wearing torn banyan inspired of having lacs and lacs. Such people worry so much and live a short life. Helping others is ones inner urge than by external pressure.

It's a good gesture and contribution by Syed Sadathulla Sakhaf which deserves lot's of appreciation. India with 10's of religions, cast and creed and diversified cultures need to continue living in peace and harmony. Those who entertain communal hatred or discriminations must take this as a good example to learn something better. Even Sir Ronald Colaco is another great Philandrist who has big heart to help others irrespective of their religion. Great people.
