Bantwal, Nov 13: The annual feast of St Thomas the Apostle Church, Nirkan was celebrated with great devotion and festivity on Wednesday, November 12. The faithful gathered in large numbers to mark the joyous occasion honoring the patron saint St Thomas the Apostle.

The celebration began with Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, parish priest of Nirkan Church, distributing candles to all the Murdom and donors of the feast as a gesture of gratitude and blessing.

The festive Mass was solemnly celebrated by Fr Leo William Lobo, parish priest of Holy Spirit Church Bajal as the main celebrant, joined by the parish priest and other concelebrating priests.

In homily, Fr Norman Mathias, assistant parish priest at St Francis Xavier Church Bejai, urged the faithful to build faith-filled families and follow the example of St Thomas the Apostle.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, Fr Leo William Lobo distributed candles to the Phirjinth as a mark of goodwill.

Parish priest Fr Anil Roshan Lobo extended heartfelt thanks to all parishioners, donors, and volunteers for their wholehearted support and contributions toward the success of the feast. He also conveyed his warm wishes to everyone on the joyous occasion.

Adding to the festive spirit, the ICYM and YCS Nirkan Unit organized a vibrant festive fun stall in the church premises. The event featured a variety of fun-filled games, entertainment activities, and refreshment, bringing together parishioners of all ages in a spirit of community and celebration.

The day featured the ‘Festacho Kombo’ lucky draw organized by the ICYM Nirkan unit, which saw enthusiastic participation and was a grand success.

The celebration beautifully reflected the joy of faith, unity, and fellowship, embodying the spirit of St Thomas the Apostle and the vibrant community of Nirkan parish.
