Udupi, Nov 12: On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Adarsha Hospital will organise a ‘Diabetes Fair’ on November 16, from 9 am to 4 pm at Government PU College (Board High School), Udupi.
The event is jointly organised by Adarsha Hospital in association with Adarsha Charitable Trust (R) Udupi, Udupi District Hospital, Udupi District Health and family Welfare Department, Udupi Taluk Health Office, Udupi District Survey Unit, Prasad Netralaya Udupi, Red Cross Udupi, IMA Udupi, API, Udupi Manipal Chapter.

The fair aims to raise awareness about diabetes and its management. It will feature various demonstrations and exhibitions, including, model diabetes diet display, exercise and yoga demonstration, ideal body weight demonstrations, digital BP monitoring demo, insulin usage demo, information on diabetes and heart disease, kidney problems, and demonstration on the use of glucometer.
Participants can also avail themselves of several free health tests, such as blood sugar level, blood lipid test, kidney test (urea, creatinine), ECG, bone density test, foot test, eye test, fibro liver scan, and diabetic footwear assessment.
A team of specialist doctors will provide free detailed consultations and examinations. They include, medical director and senior medical specialist Dr G S Chandrashekar, medical specialist Dr Sudeep Shetty, cardiologist Dr Vishnu Kumar, nephrologist Dr Megha Pai, neurosurgeon Dr Rajesh Nair, senior medical specialist Dr Udhay Kumar Prabhu, Cardiologist Dr Srikanth Krishna, Cardiologist Dr Suhas G C, gastroenterologist Dr Satish Nayak, and neurosurgeon Dr Jaspeeth Singh Dil.
To promote healthy living, participants will be served a special diabetes-friendly breakfast and lunch during the event.
