Udupi: SMVITM student secures second place in national level hackathon

Udupi, Nov 12: Students of SMVITM participated in Dev Host 2025, a national level 36-hour hackathon organized by the Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC) at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Adyar, Mangaluru, on November 6-8.

The event was sponsored by EG India (EG Software – ‘Software Made for You’), which also provided industry-relevant problem statements. As the flagship tech convergence of SOSC, Dev Host featured technical and non-technical events, along with dev talks and workshops by industry experts, fostering innovation and collaboration among participants.

Out of several teams that applied nationwide, 30 teams were shortlisted for the final 36-hour round. SMVITM’s team Power-Rangers proudly made it to the finals and secured the 2nd prize, winning a cash prize of Rs 20,000. Participating in Dev Host 2025 was an incredible experience that strengthened technical skills, creativity, and teamwork.
