Christ King PU College organizes inter-district cultural, literary competition ‘Anveshane–2025’

Karkala, Nov 11: The inter-district cultural and literary competition ‘Anveshane–2025’, organized for pre-university and high school students of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts, was held grandly at Christ King Pre-University College, Karkala.

The inaugural ceremony was marked by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by noted theatre and film actor Tenali Sunil Nelligudde, who inaugurated the event. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Events like Anveshane provide a platform for today’s students to showcase their hidden talents. Students should make the best use of such opportunities.”

The chief guest, Arun Manja, president of JCI Rural Karkala, in his address said, “Values are essential for students today. It is commendable that this institution imparts good values along with quality education.”

The programme was presided over by Dr Peter Fernandes, member of Christ King Education Trust, who stated, “Every student possesses certain skills. When given a chance to express them, they can reach great heights.”

Lakshminarayana Kamath, principal of the Pre-University section gave an introductory note. Shaili Hegde delivered the welcome address, while Deepak K compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.

During the valedictory ceremony held in the evening, Block Education coordinator of Karkala Balakrishna Naik, former president of the Teachers and Parents Association of the college Balakrishna Shetty, principal of St Joseph High School Belman Dominic Andrade, and president of the Teachers and Parents Association of the PU section Dayananda, were present as guests. They distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions and extended their best wishes to all participants.

In the overall championship, Sundar Puranik Government High School, Peruvaje won the title in the high school category, while Dr N S A M Pre-University College, Nitte bagged the overall championship in the PU category.

Lecturers Pavan and Deepak K read out the list of prize winners, anchored the programme, and proposed the vote of thanks.

The event was graced by principal Lakshminarayana Kamath, vice principal Dr Prakash Bhat, headmistress of Christ King English Medium High School Josna Snehalatha, headmaster of Christ King English Medium Primary School Rudolph Kishore Lobo, and administrative officer of the institution Kiran Crasta.
