Dharmendra stable, confirms Esha Deol amid death rumours

Mumbai, Nov 11: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, 89, is recovering and under medical observation in Mumbai, his daughter Esha Deol confirmed on Tuesday, putting an end to false reports about his demise.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Esha clarified, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery.” She also turned off the comments section on her post.

Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital over a week ago after experiencing breathlessness. Family members including Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Karan Deol, and Rajveer Deol visited him recently. Hema Malini also shared an update, thanking well-wishers and assuring that Dharmendra is ‘being continuously monitored’.

Several industry colleagues — including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel — reportedly visited the veteran actor at the hospital.

Known for classics such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, and Dream Girl, Dharmendra was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and will next appear in Ikkis, set for release on December 25.
