Bantwal: Missing man found dead in drain near Vittal KSRTC bus stand

Bantwal, Nov 10: The body of a man was found in a drain near the Vittal KSRTC bus stand on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Manjunath (55), a resident of Kotikere nearby.

Manjunath, who was employed at an arecanut processing unit, had gone missing after 9:30 pm on Sunday. On Monday morning, passers-by noticed his body floating in shallow water in the drain and alerted the authorities.

It is reported that the deceased was addicted to alcohol. However, the exact cause of how he fell into the drain and died remains unknown.

Upon receiving the information, Vittal police inspector Prakash Devadiga and station officer Ramakrishna visited the spot and conducted an investigation.
