Pushparaj B N elected president of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association

Mangaluru, Nov 9: Pushparaj B N has been elected as the president of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalist Association (DKDWJA) for the term 2025–2028. Rajesh K Poojary has been elected as the general secretary, and Vijay Kotian Padu has been elected unopposed as the treasurer.

The election was held on Sunday at the office auditorium of the department of information and public relations, Mangaluru. Out of a total of 352 voters, 331 cast their votes. Pushparaj B N won the presidential post by defeating his opponent Shravan Kumar.

Muhammad Arif Padubidre, Wilfred D’Souza, and Rajesh Shetty were elected as vice presidents, while I B Sandeep Kumar and Gangadhar Kallapalli were defeated in the contest for the same post.

Siddiq Neeraje, Suresh D Palli, and Satish Ira were elected as secretaries, while Rajesh Daddangadi lost in the contest.

For the executive committee, Ashok Shetty B N, Sandesh Jara, Sandeep Kumar, Lakshmi Narayan, Harish Motukana, Divakar Padmunja, Kiran Sirsikar, Abhishek H S, Jayashree, Bhuvaneshwar, Sandeep Wagle, Harish K Adoor, Girish Adpangaya, Sandeep Salyan, and Arif Kalkatta were elected.

In the election for one member seat of the Karnataka State Working Journalists’ Association’s state executive committee, Srinivas Naik Indaje emerged victorious, defeating his opponent Ansar Inoli.

Khader Shah, senior assistant director of the department of information and public relations, Dakshina Kannada, served as the election officer.
