Puttur: Hotel worker dies after falling from first-floor corridor into drain at Uppinangady

Puttur, Nov 6: In a tragic incident, a hotel worker lost his life after accidentally falling from the first-floor corridor into a nearby drain at Uppinangady during the early hours of November 4.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Naik (60), a resident of Banari Mane in Urval village, Beltangady taluk.

According to reports, Ganesh Naik was employed at a hotel on the first floor in Uppinangady. In the early morning, he reportedly stepped out to the corridor and accidentally slipped, falling into the drain below. He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.

Following the incident, the victim’s son, Jagadish, lodged a complaint at Uppinangady police station, and a case has been registered for further investigation.
