On November 2, police intercepted a Ritz car (registration number KA-19-MC-5862) on Pattur Road in Patrame village, in which three cows were reportedly being transported for slaughter in violation of the law. The police arrested Mohammad Khalil alias Tausif (38), a resident of Ullal taluk, and Mohammad Sinan (25) at the scene.

A case was registered at the Dharmasthala police station against three persons, including Zahara from Patturu village of Patrame, under Sections 5 and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2020, and Section 11(1)(D) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Acting on this information, Dharmasthala police seized and attached the house of Ibrahim Khalil alias Tausif on November 4 as part of the ongoing probe.
