IT club inaugurated, special lecture on Artificial Intelligence held at MPM College, Karkala

Karkala, Nov 5: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the department of computer applications of Manjunatha Pai Memorial Government First Grade College of Professional and Business Management, Karkala, jointly organised the inauguration of the IT Club, followed by a special lecture on 'Introduction to AI and Its Applications' on November 4.

Dr Praveen M Naik, assistant professor, department of AI and data science, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte University, was the chief guest and resource person. He inaugurated the club by lighting the lamp and remarked that students of this generation face fresh challenges as technology evolves rapidly. He emphasized the importance of staying updated to realize their aspirations. Dr Naik then delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping modern technology.

The programme was presided over by Dr Suresh Rai K, principal of the college, who in his presidential address, stressed discipline and hard work as essential values for achieving success. Vinay M S, IQAC coordinator and IT club coordinator, extended his best wishes to the club and encouraged students to work together to excel.

The event was graced by the presence of faculty members Nikitha Kini, Pooja, and Sudhir from the department of computer applications. The programme was compered by Kruthi Acharya, with Rakshitha R delivering the welcome address, Sanchith Devadiga introducing the guest, and Dheeraj Shetty proposing the vote of thanks.
