Patna, Nov 3: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday urged the Centre and the Bihar government to prioritise employment generation, industrial revival, and inclusive development, while addressing a series of election rallies across the state.
Campaigning for Mahagathbandhan candidates, she expressed confidence that the Grand Alliance would form the next government, saying that people were ready for change after years of the BJP–JDU’s “failed governance.”
In a sharp yet humorous swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Priyanka quipped that the Centre should create a “Ministry of Insults” so the Prime Minister could “save time for development work.”

“My suggestion is that the Prime Minister should create a new ministry and call it the ‘Ministry of Insults’ — so that every time anyone questions him, that ministry can handle it. His time would be saved,” she said at a rally in Saharsa, drawing laughter from the crowd.
Addressing youth concerns, she said, “When people raise their voices for jobs and education, it should be seen as constructive, not confrontational. This new ministry could also archive all comments about my family — that alone could fill a library,” she added with a smile.
Targeting the NDA’s “double-engine government,” Priyanka alleged that Bihar’s administration was being controlled from Delhi, calling it a “single-engine government” in practice.
At her second rally in Lakhisarai, she stressed that the government should focus on people’s real issues — education, employment, and farmers’ welfare — instead of engaging in political rhetoric.
“Students are demanding education, youth are seeking jobs, farmers need support — but instead of addressing their problems, the government is diverting attention elsewhere,” she said.
Later, in Rosera (Samastipur), Priyanka held a roadshow to boost support for Mahagathbandhan candidates. She claimed growing public discontent with the BJP-JDU administration, predicting that November 14’s results would mark “a new beginning for Bihar.”
“The hopes of the people are with the Mahagathbandhan,” she said, promising a government that listens, empowers, and delivers.
Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to address several more rallies and roadshows in the coming days as part of the Congress-led alliance’s campaign push in poll-bound Bihar.
