Udupi, Nov 3: A preparatory meeting for the historic Laksha Kantha Gita event and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to the Paryaya Shri Puttige Shri Krishna Math was held on November 3 at Geetha Mandira, near the Udupi Shri Krishna Math. The meeting was chaired by Paryaya Seer Paramapujya Shri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji, and attended by senior district administration officials, police officers, and elected representatives.
In his address, Shri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji said that Prime Minister Modi, who had visited during his previous Paryaya tenure as the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, will now visit as the Prime Minister. He emphasized that the event should reflect Udupi’s rich culture, hospitality, and tradition, while ensuring the Prime Minister’s complete security. The month-long Gita Utsav will feature Sant Sangam, Gita Mahayaga, and the International Gita Conference. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, several union ministers, and distinguished guests from across the world, including the United States, are expected to attend.








Terming it a prestigious event for Udupi, the Swamiji called upon everyone to join hands for its success.
Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna remarked that all programmes organized under the guidance of Swamiji are special, and this visit by the Prime Minister would further boost Udupi’s development. He urged representatives to work together beyond party lines.
Deputy commissioner Swaroopa T K, Kapu MLA Suresh Shetty Gurme, Devi Prasad Shetty Belapu, Suprasad Shetty Baikadi, BJP District president Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, and former minister Pramod Madhwaraj pledged their cooperation for the event’s success. Superintendent of police Hariram Shankar briefed on security arrangements.
Deputy commissioner of revenue Rashmi, Tahsildar Gururaj, and other officials were present. Diwan Nagraj Acharya conducted the proceedings, while Sagarothara Secretary Prasanna Acharya proposed the vote of thanks. Notable attendees included Santosh Shetty Tenkaraguttu, Ratheesh Tantri, Pramod Sagar, Yogindra Bhat, and Ravindra Acharya.
