New Delhi, Nov 1: India’s latest monthly fuel price revision, effective from November 1, has brought a mixed outcome — with aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices witnessing a marginal rise of nearly 1%, while commercial LPG cylinder rates have been reduced by up to Rs 6.50 across major metro cities.
According to the latest data released by state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs), the retail price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at Rs 1,590.50, down by Rs 5 from the previous rate of Rs 1,595.50. The reduction follows the Rs 15.50 hike implemented in September.

Among the metros, Kolkata saw the highest price cut of Rs 6.50 per cylinder, while Mumbai and Chennai recorded reductions of Rs 5 and Rs 4.50 respectively.
Revised commercial LPG cylinder rates (per 19 kg):
• Delhi: Rs 1,590.50 (↓ Rs 5)
• Kolkata: Rs 1,694.00 (↓ Rs 6.50)
• Mumbai: Rs 1,542.00 (↓ Rs 5)
• Chennai: Rs 1,750.00 (↓ Rs 4.50)
The revision comes as a relief to sectors such as restaurants, hotels, and catering services, which heavily depend on commercial LPG.
In contrast, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have been increased by Rs 777 per kilolitre, or 0.8%, bringing the new rate in Delhi to Rs 94,543.02 per kl, according to OMC data.
This marks the second consecutive monthly hike in ATF prices — following a 3.3% increase on October 1 after a 1.4% cut in September. With ATF accounting for nearly 40% of airline operating costs, the steady upward trend is likely to add to financial pressures on the aviation sector.
Revised ATF prices (per kilolitre):
• Delhi: Rs 94,543.02
• Mumbai: Rs 88,744.87 (up from Rs 87,714.39)
• Chennai: Rs 98,089.68
• Kolkata: Rs 97,549.18
Fuel prices vary across cities due to local taxes such as VAT.
No change in domestic LPG, petrol, or diesel rates
Meanwhile, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged at Rs 853 per 14.2-kg cylinder, the same rate fixed in April following a Rs 50 hike. Similarly, petrol and diesel prices have remained stable since March last year, ahead of the general elections.
• Petrol: Rs 94.72 per litre (Delhi)
• Diesel: Rs 87.62 per litre (Delhi)
Oil prices have remained range-bound globally in recent weeks, but domestic revisions continue to mirror subtle movements in international benchmarks.
State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise ATF and LPG prices on the first day of every month based on global fuel averages and currency exchange fluctuations.
