Gorakhpur, Nov 1: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and actor Ravi Kishan has allegedly received a death threat from a man calling from Ara district in Bihar. According to his personal secretary, the threat was issued over the MP’s alleged comments about the Yadav community during a recent election campaign in Bihar.
The caller, identifying himself as Ajay Kumar Yadav from Jawaniya village in Ara, allegedly contacted the MP’s personal secretary Shivam Dwivedi, used abusive language, and threatened to shoot the Gorakhpur MP.

“Ravi Kishan makes comments about Yadavs, so I will shoot him,” the caller allegedly said, before continuing to hurl abuses despite Dwivedi’s clarification that the MP had not made any such remarks.
The man also threatened, “I know about your every move. When you come to Bihar in four days, I will kill you,” while continuing to use offensive language. He reportedly expressed support for Bhojpuri singer Khesari Lal Yadav’s recent statement suggesting that a hospital should have been built instead of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
According to Dwivedi, the caller also used derogatory language towards Lord Ram and the Ayodhya temple. Following the incident, Ravi Kishan’s staff members, Shivam Dwivedi and Pawan Dubey, lodged a written complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Gorakhpur, seeking increased security for the MP and immediate action against the accused.
Police officials have initiated an inquiry into the incident. “The matter is being investigated, and security around the MP may be strengthened,” officials said.
Ravi Kishan: “I Will Not Bow to Threats”
Responding to the threat, Ravi Kishan said he was not intimidated and would continue to walk the path of duty.
“I was subjected to abusive language over the phone, with indecent remarks made about my mother. I was threatened with death, and offensive words were uttered against Lord Shri Ram. This is not only an attack on my dignity but also on the values of our faith and Indian culture,” he said in a statement posted on X.
Calling such acts “attempts to spread hatred and anarchy,” he asserted that they would be countered through “democratic strength and ideological resolve.”
“I neither fear these threats nor will I bow to them,” the Gorakhpur MP said. “Walking the path of public service, nationalism, and dharma is not a political strategy for me — it is my life’s resolve. I will remain steadfast on this path, no matter what price I may have to pay.”
As of now, the police have not confirmed whether the caller has been identified or taken into custody.
