Bantwal, Oct 30: A search operation was carried out throughout Wednesday in the river near the old Panemangalore bridge after an auto driver went missing, suspected to have jumped into the river. However, no clues were found.

The missing person has been identified as Preetham Lobo, a resident of Marnabail. On Wednesday morning around 8 am, he reportedly arrived in his electric auto-rickshaw, parked it on the old Panemangalore bridge, and went missing soon after.

Suspecting that he might have jumped into the river, local swimmers, along with a team from the bantwal fire and emergency services, conducted an extensive search operation throughout the day, but without success.

Bantwal Town police visited the spot and conducted an investigation.
