Mangaluru: SJEC shines at VTU state-level weightlifting championship

Mangaluru, Oct 29: SJEC men’s & women’s team emerged as 3rd runner up and SJEC women’s team secured II runner up in the VTU state level weight lifting championship organised by GAT, Bengaluru on October 27. The teams showcased remarkable skill and determination under the guidance of Vaneesha V Rodrigues, physical education director (PED), Sudheer, assistant PED.

SJEC men’s team Suhan R Rao II year MBA secured gold medal under 88 kg category in VTU state level weightlifting championship by lifting the snatch 92 kg and clean and jerk 112 kg, total of 204 kg.

Kushi Salian III-year ECE secured gold medal under 63 kg category in VTU state level weightlifting championship by lifting snatch 38 Kg and clean and jerk 52 kg, total weight of 90 kg.

Dhawan Rai S IV yr ECE, secured silver medal under 60 kg category in VTU state level best physique championship.

Harshal B R II year Mech, secured gold medal under 65 kg category and also awarded Mr best poser title in VTU state level best physique championship.

SJEC men’s best physique team secured runner up in VTU state level best physique championship.

The management of SJEC has congratulated the teams and the physical education directors for bringing laurels to the institution with this outstanding achievement.
