Faridabad, Oct 28: In a shocking incident, a woman and her fiance have been arrested in Faridabad for allegedly murdering an insurance agent and disposing of his body in a drain. The accused, identified as Laxmi (29) and Keshav (26), told police that they killed the victim, Chander, after he allegedly blackmailed Laxmi and tried to stop her marriage.

According to officials, Chander’s body was discovered in a drain on Sunday morning, with visible injury marks on the head and neck. Police identified him through a motorcycle parked nearby, registered in his name. Chander, a resident of Vinod Nagar in east Delhi, lived around 30 km from the crime scene. Following a complaint from his brother, Madan Gopal, a case of murder was registered.

During investigation, police traced and arrested Laxmi and Keshav. Laxmi confessed to having known Chander for about five years. However, after she got engaged to Keshav, Chander began to blackmail her emotionally and threatened her against marriage, police spokesperson Yashpal Singh said.

On October 25, Laxmi allegedly called Chander to Mithapur, Delhi, and then accompanied him on his bike to a secluded area in Atmadpur, Faridabad. There, Keshav and two of his friends attacked Chander, choking and hitting him on the head until he died. The body was then dumped in a drain before the group fled the scene.

Police said the accused took Chander’s identity documents from his pockets, but his bike’s registration number helped establish his identity. A manhunt has been launched to track down Keshav’s two associates, who remain absconding.
