Mangaluru hosts 216th Ryan Minithon Race, promoting fitness and sporting spirit among students

Mangaluru, Oct 26: The Ryan Group of Institutions announced the commencement of the 26th edition of the Ryan Minithon Road races, organized by the Ryan International Sports Club across twelve cities—Nagpur, Jalna, Mumbai, Mangaluru, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Surat, Raipur, and Nashik. The city of Mangaluru proudly hosted its 216th race, marking yet another milestone in the legacy of this prestigious series.

Since its inception, the Ryan Minithon has evolved into one of India’s largest and most recognized school road race series, witnessing the participation of over nine lac students nationwide. The initiative underscores the Ryan Group’s commitment to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and overall personality development among students. In an age dominated by digital engagement, the Minithon seeks to rekindle the culture of sporting spirit and outdoor activity, reinforcing the belief that a healthy mind thrives in a healthy body.

Speaking about the objective behind the Minithon, management representatives highlighted that the event serves as a platform to encourage children to embrace an active lifestyle, moving beyond the confines of classrooms and electronic devices. Over the years, the Minithon has not only nurtured young talent but has also produced alumni who have represented India at the Olympic level.

The 217th race on the Ryan Minithon calendar was successfully conducted on October 26th at Ryan International School, Kulai. The first-ever event of its kind in Mangalore witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, with participants competing in various categories - Under-12, under-14, and under-16 (boys and girls), along with an open category for men and women.
