New Delhi, Oct 26: In a shocking incident that unfolded in South Delhi’s upscale Greater Kailash area, a group of teenagers allegedly attempted to abduct a Class 11 student at gunpoint following a quarrel between two student groups. Thanks to the swift action of the CR Park police, the student was rescued unharmed.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on Friday, October 24, when a minor altercation inside a private school escalated into a serious confrontation. The victim, a resident of CR Park, informed police that the dispute began between his classmate and another student during school hours.

Following the altercation, the elder brother of one of the accused allegedly called the victim and his friends, issuing life threats. “He said he had committed murders in the past and would kill me after school hours,” the student revealed in his statement.

Alarmed by the threat, the student immediately informed his father, who approached the CR Park police station and alerted the Station House Officer (SHO).

Around 2 p.m., when classes ended, the student exited the school gate only to find three SUVs waiting outside—one with a registration number and two without. “The accused suddenly got down, grabbed me by the collar, pressed a pistol to my waist, and forced me into their vehicle. They said they were taking me to Noida and would kill me so that my body would never be found,” the student stated.

Acting on the prior tip-off, the SHO and his team from CR Park police swiftly reached the scene and chased down the vehicles. After a brief pursuit, one SUV was intercepted, and the kidnapped student was safely rescued. However, the other two vehicles managed to escape.

Police detained four minors from the intercepted vehicle and recovered a country-made pistol along with 20 live cartridges from their possession. “The detained minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. We have secured two days’ remand for further interrogation,” a senior officer said.

Investigators are now probing how the accused obtained the firearm and whether any adults were involved in planning the abduction. Efforts are also underway to trace the remaining suspects who fled the scene.

Police have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible, emphasizing that such incidents of student violence will not be tolerated in the capital.
