Mangaluru, Oct 24: A national-level inter-collegiate fest ‘Milagres Manthan 2025’ was organised at Milagres College, on October 24 for pre-university students from various institutions.
The programme was inaugurated by noted Kannada and Tulu actor Swaraj Shetty, who, in his inaugural address, inspired students to set clear goals and achieve them through dedication and honesty. He emphasised that success achieved by hurting others is meaningless and reminded students that karma never fails to return.
Msgr Maxim L Noronha, vicar general of the diocese of Mangalore, presided over the programme and spoke about how life’s experiences serve as lessons and how such competitions play a vital role in personal development. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, highlighted that inter-collegiate competitions offer students a valuable opportunity to showcase their talents and skills.















The principal, Dr Alwyn Serrao, delivered the welcome address, while the vice principal and programme coordinator, Prof Glencia Fernandes, proposed the vote of thanks.
Also present on the occasion were Melwyn Vas, principal of Milagres Pre-University College; Dr Diana Lobo, principal of Milagres Nursing College; Fr Uday Fernandes, principal of Milagres Central School; Prof Chethana Kumari, IQAC coordinator of Milagres College; Prof Denzil Celestine D’Costa, programme coordinator; and student representatives Prekshika and Rohan.
A total of 396 students from 21 colleges across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasaragod districts participated in various events. A football tournament was also organized exclusively for PU students, featuring 15 teams.
The overall championship of Milagres Manthan 2025 was awarded to Canara Pre-University College, Mangaluru, while St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, secured the second place.
