Kundapur: Auto-rickshaw driver killed after pickup truck collision

Kundapur, Oct 18: In a tragic road accident, an auto-rickshaw driver lost his life on the spot after a pickup truck rammed into his rickshaw at Shirooru Kelapete on Saturday, October 18.

The deceased has been identified as Kara Iliyas (49), a resident of Hadavinkone New Colony, Shirooru village.

According to sources, a fish-laden pickup truck traveling from Malpe towards Bhatkal collided with an auto-rickshaw heading towards the Shirooru market from behind.

Due to the severe impact, the auto-rickshaw driver sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.

A case has been registered at the Byndoor police station.

    Many mishaps are happening nowadays. Police should be strict and check for alcohol. It should be like gujarat, they are very strict.
