Mumbai, Oct 15: Responding to passenger complaints over poor mobile network connectivity in the underground Metro Line-3 (Aqua Line) corridor, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has launched free Wi-Fi services across all stations to improve commuter convenience.
According to MMRC, the new Wi-Fi facility will help passengers seamlessly book tickets through the MetroConnect3 mobile app. “The Wi-Fi facility is available at the concourse (ticketing) level of all Aqua Line metro stations, allowing commuters to book tickets seamlessly,” the corporation said in a press release.

Passengers can access the free Wi-Fi by downloading the MetroConnect3 app, signing in before reaching the station, selecting MetroConnect3 from their device’s Wi-Fi settings, and tapping Connect to Wi-Fi under the Profile section. The free internet service is currently intended for digital ticket booking.
More than 1.6 lakh passengers used the Metro Line-3 corridor on Monday, with many earlier reporting poor mobile connectivity that prevented them from using online ticketing options.
The MMRC has urged commuters to utilise the newly launched Wi-Fi, assuring that the service is free, secure, and reliable for hassle-free travel.
Meanwhile, ACES India has partnered with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to deploy advanced 4G and 5G In-Building Solutions (IBS) throughout the 33.5-kilometre underground Aqua Line. The high-speed network will cover all 27 stations and tunnels, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for millions of daily commuters.
