Puttur: House theft accused arrested, valuables recovered

Puttur, Oct 14: Puttur city police have arrested a man in connection with a house theft case and recovered stolen gold ornaments and cash from his possession.

According to a complaint filed by Revathi, a resident of Puttur taluk, unknown miscreants broke into her house between 10 am and 5 pm on October 12 and stole one gold bangle, a pair of gold earrings, a gold chain, and cash.

Based on her complaint, a case was registered at Puttur city police station (Crime No. 89/2025) under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). During the investigation, the police traced and arrested the accused, identified as Praveen (27), a resident of City Gudde House, Kabaka village, Puttur taluk.

Police have recovered the stolen jewellery and cash from the accused. He was produced before the court, which has remanded him to judicial custody.
