INDIA Bloc poised for Bihar battle: SP confident, seat talks signal strength, not strain

New Delhi, Oct 12: Samajwadi Party spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chaand voiced strong optimism about the unity and determination of the INDIA bloc ahead of the crucial Bihar Assembly elections. Emphasizing the alliance’s commitment to governance, he described the ongoing seat-sharing discussions as a healthy and necessary step toward a cohesive electoral strategy.

“Negotiations over seat-sharing are a positive sign — this is an alliance preparing to govern,” Chaand stated, referring to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s scheduled discussions in Delhi with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. “We aim to resolve all matters collectively. A final decision will be announced soon.”

Contrasting this with the situation in the BJP-led NDA, Chaand predicted instability. “While we’re moving toward consensus, the NDA will face disintegration during ticket distribution. The INDIA bloc is set to contest Bihar with full force and form the next government,” he asserted.

Tejashwi Yadav’s meeting with the Congress leadership is seen as pivotal in ironing out differences and streamlining the Mahagathbandhan’s electoral roadmap. However, Tejashwi dismissed any speculation of discord within the bloc.

“There are no issues within the alliance. Everything is on track,” Tejashwi said before departing for Delhi. “The BJP is rattled by my employment pledge — and I stand by it. Beginning November 14, Bihar will take its first step toward eradicating unemployment.”

Chaand also took aim at the NDA’s internal dynamics, particularly the treatment of its allies. Highlighting the sidelining of Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), he said, “SBSP has often fought alone in Uttar Pradesh. Even now, in Bihar, they are being sidelined — seats are being denied even where his own son lost. The BJP has a track record of disrespecting its partners.”

He added that the Samajwadi Party is unconcerned with the NDA’s internal disputes and remains focused on building a united, people-focused front.

As seat-sharing negotiations continue, the INDIA bloc is aiming to present a solid and united campaign, ready to challenge the NDA in one of the most watched electoral battles of the year.
