Mumbai, Oct 6: As Bobby Deol completes three decades in the film industry, heartfelt tributes poured in — none more touching than that from actress Preity Zinta, his long-time friend and co-star. Marking the milestone on Instagram, Zinta commented on Bobby's celebratory post, writing, “Congratulations Lord Bobby. This is just the start. Love you loads.”
The two first shared screen space in 1998’s action hit “Soldier”, which marked Preity’s second film after her debut in Dil Se.. that same year. Soldier, directed by Abbas–Mustan, was a major box office success and established both actors as rising stars in Bollywood. Over the years, they went on to co-star in films like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Heroes, building both a professional rapport and a personal friendship.

Back in 2020, Bobby had spoken fondly of Preity in an interview, expressing a wish to work with her again: “She is more of a friend and not just a co-actor… I wish I get a chance to do something that suits our age, and I’m sure we will get that opportunity in the future.”
On the occasion of his 30th year in Bollywood, Bobby Deol shared a nostalgic video montage on Instagram — a tribute to his journey from his debut in “Barsaat” (1995) to his recent resurgence with the blockbuster “Animal”. The montage featured posters of his most memorable films and a voiceover from Bobby himself, where he reflected on his career:
"I've been a part of some amazing films throughout my career. But then, Animal changed everything for me. Grateful and overwhelmed with the love I've always received from my fans. To all my fans who stood by me — I love you, I love you, I love you. I just started and I have a long way to go.”
He captioned the post: “30 years of many emotions on and off screen… all made worthwhile by your love. That fire still burns and I’m just getting started!”
From being hailed as the romantic action hero of the late '90s to reinventing himself with powerful performances in recent years, Bobby Deol’s cinematic journey reflects both resilience and reinvention. And with support from peers like Preity Zinta and a loyal fanbase, it seems the "Lord Bobby" era is far from over.
