Suspicion surrounds death of 20-year-old NEET aspirant in Kota PG

Jaipur, Oct 2: The tragic death of a 20-year-old NEET aspirant from Delhi, found hanged in his paying guest (PG) room in Kota, has been shrouded in suspicion, with his father emphatically rejecting the police’s initial implication of suicide.

The deceased, identified as Lucky Chaudhary, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in his room in the Vigyan Nagar area on Wednesday. His sudden passing has devastated his family, who insist that Lucky was a strong-willed individual who would not take his own life.

Family Expresses Deep Doubt

Speaking to reporters on Thursday after collecting his son’s body, Lucky’s grieving father, Dilip Chaudhary, broke down. "I sent him to Kota two years ago to prepare for NEET. He was my only son... and he always said, 'Papa, I am not weak enough to commit suicide,'” the father recounted.

Dilip Chaudhary's suspicion is amplified by several missing items from the room—Lucky’s mobile phone, wallet, and bag were nowhere to be found. The family also revealed that Lucky was under recent financial strain, having borrowed $40,000 from a friend a week prior to his death.

Suspect Named by Father

Police investigations are focusing on a neighbor who has been missing since the incident. Rahul, a young man from Bihar who occupied the adjacent PG room, has neither attended his coaching classes nor returned to the PG following the tragedy.

Neighbors informed Dilip Chaudhary that Lucky and Rahul had a heated argument just two to three days before the death. Dilip Chaudhary alleged a history of harassment, stating, “Rahul consumed alcohol and had a girlfriend studying here. He often quarrelled with my son. He must have been harassing him.”

Police Vow Thorough Investigation

Vigyan Nagar police station in-charge Mukesh Meena confirmed that Lucky was studying independently this year, not having enrolled in a coaching institute.

"The family insists he was not a child who would take such a step. A case has been registered and we are investigating from every angle," Meena stated. During the initial examination, police recovered NEET notes, along with cigarettes and an alcohol bottle from the room.

After the post-mortem at MBS Hospital, the body was handed over to the family. Authorities are continuing to pursue leads into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Lucky Chaudhary's death.
