Body of missing hiker found in Great Smoky Mountains

Tennessee, Sep 24: Authorities discovered the body of 21-year-old Ryan Lakes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Monday, following a multi-day search.

Lakes, last seen on September 18, was reported missing by park officials. He was described as 5-foot-5, wearing dark-colored shorts, a dark T-shirt, brown tennis shoes, and carrying a black backpack.

His body was found in the Big Creek area at 2:45 p.m. local time. The National Park Service (NPS) said no foul play is suspected, and the cause of death is under investigation.

The Big Creek area, located near the North Carolina-Tennessee border, is a dense, secluded forest known for its streams, waterfalls, wildflowers, and historical significance.
