Mumbai, Sep 22: The Goud Saraswat Brahmin Sabha, Dahisar-Borivali (R), inaugurated its 18th annual Navaratri celebrations — ‘Dahisar Dasarotsav 2025’ — at the Madhavendra Sabha Mantap in GSB Garden, Dahisar, on Monday morning. The event is being held in commemoration of the centenary of Srimad Sudhindra Tirtha Swamiji’s birth anniversary (2025–26), with the blessings of Srimad Samyamindra Tirtha Swamiji, Mathadhipati of Kashi Math, Varanasi.
The nine-day Sharannavaratra festivities will continue till Vijayadashami on October 2 at the Saraswat Cultural and Recreation Centre, GSB Garden, N.L. Complex, Dahisar East. A beautifully decorated floral mantap with silver prabhavali, golden crown, diamond and gold ornaments adorned the deity, and Shri Hari Guru Seva Pratishthana performed the prana pratishtha of Goddess Shridevi, marking the devotional inauguration of the annual ‘Dahisar Dasarotsav’.















Under the priesthood of Vedamurthy Lakshmi Narayan Bhat of Walkeshwar, rituals and pujas were performed, blessing devotees on the occasion. The inaugural day witnessed Saraswati Devi puja, and from morning to night, several rituals were conducted including flower decoration seva, rang puja, midday and night pujas, Chandika havan, var-bhet (for couples), panchamrutha abhishek, Durga havan, tulabhar seva, pancha naivedya mahabhog, Durga namaskar, deeparadhana, Lakshmi Narayan hridaya havan, and collective kumkumarchane seva. The pujas were conducted by Vedamurthys Prashanth Bhat, Ullas Bhat, Vinayak Bhat, and other scholars, with Guruprasad Pai and Vaishali G Pai, and C Narayan Pai and Nayana N Pai couples taking charge as yajmans.
From Tuesday, the deity will be worshipped in different forms each day. On September 23, the goddess will be adorned as Annapoorneshwari, Shantadurga, Vaishnodevi, Chamundeshwari, Durga Parameshwari, Vijayadurga, Mahakali, Chandika Devi, and finally, as Sharada Devi on Vijayadashami.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Sanur Manohar V Kamath (president), Vishnu R Kamath (vice president), Uday M Padiyar (honorary general secretary), Mohandas A Kamath (honorary treasurer), members of the executive committee and other office-bearers of GSB Sabha Dahisar-Borivali (R). On the occasion, schoolchildren were distributed bags, books, and accessories.
