Panaji, Sep 16: Goa International Airport, Dabolim, is set to join airports nationwide in observing Yatri Sewa Diwas tomorrow, an Airports Authority of India (AAI) initiative aimed at enhancing passenger services and travel experiences.
AAI announced a range of passenger-focused activities at Dabolim Airport, including traditional Goan folk dance performances and tika greetings for arriving travelers during peak hours. The terminal will showcase banners and creative displays highlighting the occasion. Senior citizen passengers will take part in a tree plantation drive, while a painting competition for children will be held at both the airport terminal and Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, with the artwork exhibited at the airport. A photo booth has also been installed at arrivals and departures for travelers to capture moments with Yatri Sewa Diwas branding.
The event will also feature social initiatives such as a blood donation camp coordinated with the District Hospital, free health check-ups in partnership with Manipal Hospitals at the departure area, and complimentary eye tests for taxi drivers in collaboration with Victor Hospital. Additionally, Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 will host a career guidance program to educate students about opportunities in aviation. Passengers will be invited to share feedback via pamphlets distributed throughout the airport.
Managed jointly by the Indian Navy and AAI, Dabolim Airport handles around 7.5 million passengers annually and ranks among the top five AAI-operated airports in India. It is known for its distinctive role managing international, domestic, and charter flights while focusing strongly on passenger convenience, safety, and satisfaction.
